Investigation launched: Allegations that a teacher threw a cat from the 5th floor

Allegations surfaced on social media claiming that during an IELTS exam held at a school in Levent, Beşiktaş, a teacher threw the school's cat, Faruk, from the 5th floor. An investigation has been launched into the incident, in which the cat reportedly suffered two broken legs and internal bleeding.

Information shared on social media has prompted police action. Several social media accounts posted the following: “A teacher who came from another school to the Levent campus of the Terakki Foundation Schools for an IELTS exam held recently threw the school's beloved cat, Faruk, from the 5th floor during the exam. They then threatened students who turned to the window to see what happened to the cat, telling them they would never be allowed to take the exam again. Cat Faruk has two broken legs and internal bleeding; he was alive when the students found him, but his condition is currently critical.’” the posts stated.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Following these posts, an investigation was launched. The police have initiated work to determine whether such an incident actually took place. Police teams conducting an investigation at the school where the incident allegedly occurred will take the teacher's statement if the claims are found to be true. The investigation, initiated under the instructions of the prosecutor's office, is ongoing.
