Investigation launched into Ayşe Barım's release decision: She had been re-arrested following an appeal
The Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) has launched an investigation into Fatih Kapan, the judge of the Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of First Instance, who had ordered the release of Ayşe Barım, who was arrested as part of the Gezi Park investigation.

Ayşe Barım’s lawyer submitted a petition in recent days to appeal her detention. The appeal was rejected by the criminal judgeship of peace.
However, her lawyer then filed an appeal with the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance. Evaluating the appeal, Istanbul 8th Criminal Court of First Instance Judge Fatih Kapan caused a scandal by ordering Barım’s release.
FIRST RELEASE, THEN RE-ARREST
According to the report on Son.tv, following the release decision, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Can Tuncay, who is responsible for the Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, appealed the decision and requested that the detention order for Barım remain in effect. As a result of the evaluation of the file by the Istanbul Assize Court, it was decided that Barım be re-arrested.
