A food review video filmed by Vedat Milor, one of the well-known names in the gastronomy world, at Kent Lokantası and published on YouTube has become a hot topic. While the Ministry of Trade launched an investigation into Milor over allegations of 'covert advertising,' the famous gourmet spoke out for the first time on his social media account.
In his statement, Milor noted that he has always made his gastronomy reviews in an impartial and independent manner, stating the following:
"On the occasion of recent developments, I would like to remind you of my principles: To remain impartial and independent, I do not accept invitations from any restaurant. I choose the places I go to entirely myself and I pay the bill."
WHAT HAPPENED?
About two months ago, Vedat Milor went to the Kent Lokantası in Üsküdar, ate there, and shared his experiences in a YouTube video titled "Four courses for 40 liras: Is this price real?". In the video, Milor commented on the restaurant's pricing policy, taste, and food quality, and expressed his personal views on the Kent Lokantası concept.
However, the video sparked a debate in a short time. While some circles saw Milor's comments as an impartial review, others claimed that the video constituted 'covert advertising.' Following these allegations, the Ministry of Trade launched an investigation into Milor.
