Investigation launched into PayFix owner and executives: Suspicion of illegal betting financing
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau has prepared an indictment against the electronic money payment institution PayFix and its owner, Erkan Kork. The indictment alleges that PayFix provided financial intermediation for illegal betting sites.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that 211 thousand 109 PayFix wallets were examined as part of the investigation. It was determined that 120 thousand 169 of these wallets may belong to illegal betting players. The investigation noted that findings related to illegal betting and money laundering activities were encountered in the accounts in question.
PayFix owner Erkan Kork stated in his testimony that he had never worked anywhere before and had no social security records. Kork stated that he owns companies such as CapitalTürk Holding, Ekspres Holiday, Fix 360, Sigorta Fix, Bank Pozitif, Babilon Town, Fix 360 Sinema Yapım, Pozitif Tek, and Cashfix Teknoloji. Claiming that his companies have an average annual turnover of 250-300 million TL, Kork asserted that he fights against illegal betting and is not involved in any other illegal activities.
In a series of articles written by Cumhuriyet newspaper columnist Murat Ağırel, allegations regarding PayFix's connection to illegal betting financing were addressed. The indictment states that PayFix created a parallel software screen called 'Fixturka' and that the money accumulated in customer accounts was used in illegal activities through crypto assets or directly via betting sites.
According to secret witness testimonies, it was alleged that the actual owner of PayFix is Halil Falyalı. Furthermore, it was claimed that other payment institutions serving illegal betting activities include Papara, Maldopay, CMT Cüzdan, Envoysoft, Mefete, Erpa Pay, and Ozanpay.
