Iran: "We targeted industrial facilities in Haifa in retaliation"

While diplomatic reconciliation talks between the US and Iran continue, tensions in the Middle East have escalated once again. Following Israel's targeting of oil and air defense infrastructure in Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which launched a retaliatory strike, announced that they had hit industrial and petrochemical facilities in the critical port city of Haifa in northern Israel with missiles. The official statement declared, "The US will be responsible for the economic consequences that will arise."

As ceasefire efforts and back-channel diplomacy are being conducted in the Middle East, the crisis has entered a new phase with missiles speaking on the ground. Following the Israeli military's strike on a strategic petrochemical facility and air defense batteries in the city of Mahshahr in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province, a swift retaliatory move came from Tehran.

In an official statement released by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the missile attack on the industrial complex in Haifa Bay was confirmed, and the following statements were included:

"The enemy's (Israel) attacks on our petrochemical facilities in Mahshahr have been met with equal force, and similar industrial infrastructure and factories in Haifa have been targeted with missiles. Israel's targeting of civilian areas and our oil industry has initiated a highly dangerous game that could deeply affect all global energy hubs in the region. The US will be held entirely responsible for the global economic consequences and market disruptions that this reckless aggression will cause."

OIL REFINERY AND FUEL TANKS HIT IN HAIFA

According to information in Israeli media and local sources, the giant oil refinery complex in Haifa Bay was hit as a result of joint missile attacks carried out via Iran and Lebanon.

It was reported that a fire broke out in an industrial building within the refinery complex following the attack and a large fuel tank was damaged. Numerous fire and rescue teams were dispatched to the area.

While Israel's Channel 13 television announced that petrochemical factories were hit, it is stated that Israeli authorities have imposed strict military censorship regarding the extent of the damage in order to protect energy security and manage domestic public opinion, characterizing some of the explosions as "shrapnel from interceptor missiles."

While sirens wailed across Israel, particularly in Tel Aviv, following Iran's missile response, moves from the international arena were not delayed. US President Donald Trump used a harsh tone in his immediate statement regarding this strategic move by Iran targeting industrial facilities in Haifa. Trump openly intimidated the Tehran administration by saying, "You will see the response to Iran's attack in Haifa very soon."
