İrem F., victim of gang rape by 5 people, receives death threats: "Don't be inside when your house burns"
University student İrem F., who was subjected to sexual assault by five people in the TRNC, is struggling with threats from the defendants' relatives following the major trauma she experienced. Continuing her search for justice, İrem F. stated that the defendants' relatives are systematically continuing their threats and added: "They say they will burn our house while we are inside and that they are a tribe. I don't want to die."

A 21-year-old university student named İrem F., who was subjected to gang rape by 5 people in the TRNC, is being systematically threatened by the relatives of the defendants in the case.
Speaking to 12punto, İrem F. described the sexual assault she was subjected to and the death threats, saying, "I don't want to die."

The trial filed by 21-year-old university student İrem F. against the defendants Yusuf Atan, İbrahim Arzakçı, Şehmus Kaya, Zülküf Kaya, and Baver Yaşar, who subjected her to sexual assault in the TRNC on April 13, 2024, is ongoing at the Nicosia Assize Court.
According to the prosecution's indictment, the defendants recorded the sexual assault incident that took place in Kyrenia on their phones while committing the crime.
The defendants, who were taken into custody after İrem filed a complaint, were arrested after their initial statements were taken.
DEATH THREATS FROM DEFENDANTS' RELATIVES
Speaking to 12punto, İrem F. stated that she has been receiving threats from the defendants' relatives ever since she filed a complaint against them.
Stating that the defendants' relatives threatened her by claiming they were a "powerful tribe" and that they burned her brother's car before the hearing, İrem F. continued her words as follows:
"You are being threatened with your life; they came up to me and demanded that I withdraw my complaint. They are threatening my family, my relatives, and the people I love in every way. They are threatening to burn our houses down."

Expressing that she is being systematically threatened from various social media accounts and phone numbers, and that the threats against her family are increasing day by day, İrem F. stated that her life is at risk due to the death threats and appealed to both the public and the press:
"They send me messages saying, 'Don't be inside burning when your house is on fire.' I have no security of life. Our new hearing will be held today. I expect justice to be served. I don't want to die."
