IS PUBLIC TRANSPORT FREE DURING THE JUNE 6-9 EID AL-ADHA?

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that bridges and highways under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) will be free of charge for Eid al-Adha. Minister Uraloğlu stated that they aim to facilitate the journeys of citizens who want to reunite with their loved ones during the holiday.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree, highways operated by the KGM, as well as the July 15 Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, will be free of charge from midnight on Wednesday, June 5 (00.00) until the end of Sunday, June 9.

Furthermore, in addition to the services of Başkentray, Marmaray, İZBAN, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme rail system line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy metro line, public transport services provided by municipalities and relevant institutions will also be free of charge from 00.00 on Friday, June 6, until the end of Sunday, June 9.
