With a decision published in the Official Gazette in recent days, rail system transport will be free in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir on October 29, the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.

For Republic Day, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) will provide free public transport services for 24 hours on Tuesday, October 29, to holders of personalized Istanbulkarts. The 30 museums of the IBB will also be free to visit on Republic Day.

On October 29 Republic Day, metro and rail system lines will provide free service in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

Başkentray, Marmaray, İZBAN, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line services will be available for free.

IS PUBLIC TRANSPORT FREE IN ANKARA AND IZMIR ON OCTOBER 29?

No official statement has been made yet regarding ESHOT services in Izmir and EGO services in Ankara. However, the suburban line Başkentray (Sincan-Kayaş, Kayaş-Sincan) in Ankara and the rail system İZBAN (Selçuk-Aliağa line) in Izmir will provide free service on October 29.
