The Ministry of Interior announced that 70 suspects were apprehended in simultaneous operations conducted by the Gendarmerie General Command against the terrorist organization ISIS across 21 provinces. A multi-faceted investigation has been launched by judicial authorities regarding the apprehended suspects.

The major operation was carried out as a result of meticulous technical and physical surveillance conducted by provincial gendarmerie commands under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Counter-Terrorism (TEM) Department and the Offices of the Chief Public Prosecutor.

Determined to have provided financing and conducted propaganda

According to details shared by the Ministry, the activities of the suspects detained in the raids carried out in 21 provinces within the organization were clearly revealed. Investigations determined that the suspects were involved in the following actions:

It was determined that they were direct members of the terrorist organization ISIS, provided financial support to ISIS through individuals affiliated with the organization and structures operating under the guise of so-called aid organizations, and openly conducted propaganda for the terrorist organization via social media accounts.
