Prosecutor's statements of İsmail Hacıoğlu and Kaan Tangöze revealed: 'I ordered it via Telegram'

As part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the prosecutor's office issued detention warrants for 25 people, and 21 individuals were taken into custody. Among those detained were singers Kaan Tangöze and Murat Dalkılıç, actor İsmail Hacıoğlu, and photographer/DJ Kemal Doğulu; the 21 individuals were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station were completed.

Kaan Tangöze, Murat Dalkılıç, İsmail Hacıoğlu, and Kemal Doğulu were released following their statements at the prosecutor's office. While 5 suspects were arrested, a total of 12 suspects, including 2 under house arrest, were released with judicial control conditions.

İSMAİL HACIOĞLU'S STATEMENT:

"I ORDERED THE DRUGS VIA TELEGRAM"

According to the report by Ceylan Sever from Habertürk, the details of actor İsmail Hacıoğlu's statement to the prosecutor have emerged. Stating that he has been acting for approximately 27 years and that his monthly income is 1 million liras, İsmail Hacıoğlu stated the following in his testimony: "Previously, when I was in the Netherlands, I used the drug called cannabis out of curiosity. This was the first time I experienced this substance. There were times when I used this substance from time to time. I would order the substance from numbers I obtained from drug sales groups on the website called Telegram. I never saw these people face-to-face. They would usually leave the substance in the mailbox at my residence and take the cash I had left there beforehand. Since I am a publicly known person, I paid special attention to this matter and never engaged in face-to-face drug transactions with anyone. I regret using the substance. I turned to this substance to relax due to the stressful periods I experienced as part of my acting profession. I have not used any drug other than cannabis. I have not been in any environment where drugs were used. I have not supplied drugs to anyone. I accept the accusation against me in this way. Before being detained, I was in the Ayvalık district for a series project. For this reason, there was a small amount of drugs in my residence. I handed over my mobile phone to the police officers along with its password."

KAAN TANGÖZE'S STATEMENT

"I BOUGHT IT FROM A STREET DEALER"

Stating that his monthly income is between 600,000 and 800,000 TL, Duman band lead singer Kaan Tangöze said: "I understand the accusation against me. I also understand the effective remorse provisions you mentioned. Since I did not commit the crime I am accused of, I do not want to benefit from these provisions, but I am ready to provide any help regarding what I know," and made the following statements: "I am an artist known to the public. As a result of the search conducted by law enforcement teams regarding the presence of drugs in my home, I had bought the drug called marijuana from a street dealer I did not know about 2 years ago. However, I do not remember how much money I gave, and I do not know this person."

"IT MIGHT BE STALE"

Stating that he is married and a father of 3 children, Kaan Tangöze said: "I am a busy person. My frequency of drug use is low for this reason. The drugs in my home might even be stale. Again, the police took blood and urine samples from me. I think the active ingredient of the drug will show up because we went to Germany for a concert tour about 1 month ago. During this time, since I knew it was already sold legally in Germany, I bought and smoked marijuana again from a shop I don't remember now," he stated.

"I SMOKE ON THE BALCONY OF THE HOUSE"

Explaining how often he smokes drugs, Kaan Tangöze said: "I usually take it alone during the day and smoke it on the balcony at home at night. I have never taken drugs at any concert I have performed in, either domestically or abroad. I am also curious why proceedings are being taken against me. I have not attended any meeting or party in Turkey where drugs were used. I have not been to such places. Furthermore, no one on my work team uses drugs in any way. I do not have any connections to buy drugs; I already gave my mobile phone to the police teams for examination of my own free will. As far as I can see from the media, there is no person I know or have heard of in the investigation file, nor any action I am connected to. I do not accept the accusation against me. My words are limited to these," he said.
