Israeli Chief of Staff announces: 'War' preparations on the Lebanon border

Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi stated that the readiness level of his forces is at its "peak" for the possibility of war on the Lebanon border, where clashes with Hezbollah continue.

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Chief of Staff Halevi visited the Lebanon border and held an assessment of the situation in the region with senior military officials.

"READINESS LEVEL IS AT ITS PEAK"

Regarding the situation on the Lebanon border where clashes with Hezbollah are ongoing, Halevi stated, "My impression is that we are in a state of very strong readiness in the north. I visit here often, and I think the level of readiness is at its peak."

Stating that Israeli forces are ready for war in every field, Halevi claimed that they are focused solely on fighting Hamas in Gaza, where tens of thousands of civilians have been killed.

Halevi said that despite the difficult conditions that led to the war, this is actually an opportunity that will significantly change the situation in the north and south of the country.

Informing military officials that Israel will make changes to its routine "defense" practices, Halevi said, "At the very least, we will deploy many more forces to the borders in the coming year."
