Israeli minister calls for death penalty

Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz has called for the establishment of a special military court to impose the “death penalty” on those involved in Hamas’s October 7 attacks.

In a statement on his X social media account, Katz referred to the October 7 Hamas attacks and stated the following:

“I have called on Justice Minister Yariv Levin to establish a special military court that will apply the laws regarding the crimes of the Nazis and their collaborators, and to impose the death penalty on those who killed, slaughtered, and raped.”

In his statement, Katz included the words, "They filmed the atrocities they committed in their attack on the State of Israel on October 7. Never again!"

Hamas had launched the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ operation against Israel on the morning of Saturday, October 7.

The Israeli army had also launched attacks on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 5,791 people, including 2,360 children and 1,292 women, had been killed and 16,297 people had been injured in Israel's attacks on Gaza so far.

The Israeli press reported that 1,400 Israelis, including 308 soldiers, had been killed and 5,132 Israelis had been injured.
