Israeli police block those wanting to go to Al-Aqsa Mosque! Intervention with tear gas and rubber bullets

According to the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Administration, Israeli police created difficulties and denied entry to those wanting to go to the Old City of East Jerusalem to perform Friday prayers at Al-Aqsa, particularly targeting men under the age of 50.

Identity checks were conducted for those entering through the Damascus Gate of the Old City, leading to long queues in the area. Meanwhile, it was observed that the number of Israeli security forces in the Old City had been increased.

A 65-year-old Palestinian citizen of Israel, who requested anonymity, stated in his remarks that Israeli police turned him away from the gate of Al-Aqsa Mosque and did not allow him to enter.

Fatma Abu Salim (74), a resident of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood who is being forcibly evicted from the home where she was born and raised by Jewish settlers, also stated that she comes to Al-Aqsa every Friday for prayer and will continue to come despite all obstacles.

Calling on the Islamic and Arab world for help and support, Abu Salim said, "They (Israel) are preventing us from going to Al-Aqsa and coming to the Old City. They want to remove us from here."

INTERVENTION WITH TEAR GAS AND RUBBER BULLETS

According to the report on NTV; it was stated that Israeli police only allowed worshippers over the age of 70 to enter the mosque. Eyewitnesses said the Old City area resembled a "military barracks" where Israeli police did not allow entry to those who do not live there. It was also reported that Israeli police intervened with tear gas and rubber bullets against those who did not comply with instructions.

ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7, dubbed "Al-Aqsa Flood." While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided and seized the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border. The armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from there, and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.

It was reported that 1,300 Israelis lost their lives and 3,300 Israelis were injured in the attacks from Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 1,537 people, including 500 children and 276 women, had lost their lives and 6,612 people had been injured in Israel's attacks on Gaza.

Additionally, it was stated that 36 Palestinians had been killed and 650 people injured in attacks by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the West Bank.
