Israel's 4-point plan for Turkey revealed following trade suspension!

Before the local elections, protests against the AKP government due to the continuation of trade with Israel had dominated the agenda.

Announcing that restrictions had been placed on trade with Israel after the March 31 Local Elections, the Ministry of Trade stated in its announcement on May 2: "The second phase of measures taken at the state level has been initiated, and export and import transactions related to Israel have been stopped, covering all products."

While Turkey has cut off commercial relations with Israel, claims have emerged regarding Israel's roadmap on this issue and how it will respond to Ankara. While it was stated that the 7 billion dollar annual trade would not continue until a ceasefire is achieved, some details regarding the roadmap of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government were shared by the Israeli media. 

As reported by Sözcü, the Israeli media wrote that Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other high-level officials, reached a consensus with officials from Israel's Ministry of Economy and the tax authority to take joint steps against Turkey. 

FOUR STEPS WILL BE TAKEN

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was said: "In the meeting, it was decided to promote a series of important and functional decisions through inter-ministerial cooperation as a sharp response to [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan's unilateral decision to stop trade with Israel."

These decisions are listed as follows:

• Taking action to reduce all kinds of economic relations between Turkey, the Palestinian Authority, and Gaza. (Turkey is the largest importer, accounting for approximately 18 percent of Palestine's imports).
• Applying to international economic forums to examine sanctions against Turkey on the grounds that it violated trade agreements.
• Establishing a broad bank of alternatives in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy to find alternatives for the Israeli economy in various fields and products in the near future.
• Assisting affected Israeli export sectors.

On the other hand, Katz met with Israel's Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich and brought up the plan to prepare an aid package for sectors affected by Turkey's trade ban.
