At the 99th Gazi Horse Race held this year, famous actor Cemal Hünal drew attention with his harsh criticism regarding the legislative proposal to open olive grove areas to mining. Hünal responded angrily to questions directed at him during the event.
When asked by a reporter at the event, "Do you like olives?", Hünal replied, "I have 4 types in my cupboard." When reminded that olive groves would be opened to cement factories and mines, he expressed his reaction with these words: "To hell with what we're doing. We can't fix it. We can't fix it because this isn't anyone's fault. As long as the citizen doesn't read the sign in front of them, we can't fix anything. No entry, no stopping, and so on..."
