Istanbul and Dardanelles Straits closed to vessel traffic
Transit vessel traffic in the Istanbul and Dardanelles Straits has been temporarily suspended in both directions due to dense fog.

Visibility at sea dropped following the onset of fog off the coast of the Dardanelles Strait at midnight.
The Dardanelles Strait Vessel Traffic Services Directorate announced via radio broadcast to captains of vessels navigating from the north and south that the strait was closed to two-way transit vessel traffic as of 02:05.
It was stated that vessel traffic would return to normal once the fog dissipates.
FERRY SERVICES SUSPENDED
Due to the fog affecting the strait, ferry services between Çanakkale-Eceabat and Çanakkale-Kilitbahir have been temporarily suspended.
BOSPHORUS ALSO CLOSED TO TRAFFIC
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was announced that "vessel traffic in the Istanbul and Dardanelles Straits has been temporarily suspended in both directions due to limited visibility (fog)."
