Istanbul Bar Association President İbrahim Kaboğlu and members of the board of directors appeared in court on March 4, 2025, due to a statement they made regarding Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin, who lost their lives in an operation in Syria.

The hearing, held at the Istanbul 2nd Civil Court of First Instance, was attended by Union of Turkish Bar Associations (TBB) President Atty. Erinç Sağkan, bar association presidents from various provinces, members of parliament, politicians, and lawyers.

An interim decision was announced on March 4 in the lawsuit filed to terminate the duties of Istanbul Bar Association President İbrahim Kaboğlu and the board members. According to the decision, the request for concrete norm review regarding the claim of unconstitutionality was rejected, the request to make the criminal case a prejudicial issue was rejected, and it was decided to establish a connection via SEGBIS with the imprisoned Bar Board Member Atty. Fırat Epözdemir in the next session.

The court, which accepted the TBB's request for secondary intervention, rejected the requests of other parties and adjourned the hearing to Friday, March 21, at 09:30.
