Ahead of the Ümraniyespor vs. Manisa FK match, which is the first game of the 2025-2026 season in the Trendyol 1st League, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül made statements regarding the security measures for the new season.
Sharing the details with members of the press, Governor Gül said, "Our Minister of Interior and our Minister of Youth and Sports held a meeting regarding the prevention of violence in sports.
They shared this with the public with your participation. One of the biggest differences this year, which was not done much in previous years, was to eliminate the disruptions caused by the unregistered entry of club executives' special guests and similar fellow citizens, especially in the protocol tribune."
In summary, this is what will happen: everyone who comes to the match, including myself as the provincial governor, will watch the match in the protocol area by having their tickets processed and being registered," he said.
PROTOCOL WARNING FROM GOVERNOR GÜL
Emphasizing that the new decisions are also symbolically important, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül concluded his remarks by saying, "If the protocol tribune follows the rules, we will have something to say to our fellow citizens who come to the match. But if the protocol does not follow the rules and enters without registration, we will have nothing to say to our other fellow citizens and sports fans. We will comply first, and then we will meticulously follow up on ensuring that all our fellow citizens who come to the match enter as registered, and we will ensure that any deficiencies are addressed and penal sanctions are applied if necessary. May God grant us a season without accidents or trouble. I wish success to all athletes and fans. I hope everyone gets the reward for their efforts."
