Istanbul Governor's Office issues fraud warning regarding fake accounts opened in the name of Davut Gül

The Istanbul Governor's Office has warned citizens against fake accounts opened on social media using the name and photographs of Istanbul Governor Davut Gül.

In a statement made from the Governor's Office's official social media account, it was stated that posts containing requests for donations, aid, and money were being made through these accounts, and that these posts do not reflect the truth.

Do not pay attention to fake social media accounts opened using the name and photographs of our Istanbul Governor, Mr. Davut Gül, for the purpose of fraud. Posts and messages containing requests for donations, aid, money, or similar content made in the name of our Governor do not reflect the truth.

The statement emphasized that only the official social media accounts belonging to the Istanbul Governor's Office and Governor Davut Gül should be taken into consideration.

Citizens were asked not to pay attention to posts outside of official accounts, to report fake accounts to the relevant social media platforms, and to notify security units when necessary.
