The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that, following the identification of intense calls on social media platforms to protest the Enrico Macias concert scheduled for Friday evening at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater, all concerts, demonstrations, marches, press statements, sit-ins, and similar activities have been banned at the Open-Air Theater and its surrounding area.
The statement from the Governor's Office is as follows:
"It has been determined that intense calls have been made on various social media platforms to protest the Enrico Macias concert event, which is planned to take place at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater in the Şişli district on 05.09.2025.
It is assessed that demonstrations to be held to protest the genocide that the terrorist state of Israel continues to commit basely in Gaza and its supporters would place our young people who intend to protest in an unfair position on legal grounds and cause grievances.
For this reason, all concerts, demonstrations, marches, press statements, sit-ins, and similar activities planned to be held at the Şişli Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater and its surroundings have been banned between 00:01 and 23:59 on 05.09.2025."
