Istanbul Governor's Office: One of our police officers has been martyred
A 'Yunus' motorcycle police team was involved in a traffic accident after failing to negotiate a curve; according to a press statement from the Istanbul Governor's Office, one police officer was martyred as a result of the accident.

A 'Yunus' motorcycle police team was involved in a traffic accident in Şişli after failing to negotiate a curve. The Istanbul Governor's Office issued the following press statement regarding the accident:
On 22.03.2024, at approximately 23:00, a traffic accident occurred on Taşkışla Street in the Harbiye neighborhood of Şişli when a Yunus team traveling on the road failed to negotiate a curve. Two police officers injured in the accident were transported to hospitals in the region by 112 emergency teams.
Our police officer Furkan Bor, who was serving in the Preventive Services Branch Directorate, could not be saved despite all interventions at the hospital where he was taken and has been martyred. The treatment of our other police officer injured in the accident, Faruk Furkan Keleş, is ongoing and he is not in life-threatening condition.
A farewell ceremony for our martyr will be held on Saturday at 10:30 at the Istanbul Police Department Vatan Campus.
