Istanbul Police Department denies claims of an agreement
The Istanbul Police Department has denied claims that an agreement was reached between police and protesters. In a statement, it said, "There is no such agreement made by the competent authorities. It was claimed yesterday evening (March 24) that an agreement had been reached between the police and protesters not to throw objects and not to use tear gas. The Istanbul Police Department denied the claim in question.
In the statement made by the Provincial Police Department, it was stated: "These reports do not reflect the truth and are speculative content aimed at misleading the public. There is no such agreement made by the competent authorities. Our security forces continue to carry out their duties in accordance with the law to ensure public order and protect the safety of our citizens. We kindly request that our public rely only on information from official sources."
