Istanbul residents' traffic ordeal continues: Traffic density exceeds 70 percent
Traffic congestion occurred in some parts of the city during the morning hours on the first workday of the week in Istanbul.

Traffic density increased in some parts of the city due to the crowds of people setting out early in the morning to get to their jobs and schools.
On the European Side, traffic starting from Beylikdüzü on the D-100 highway continues through Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Bakırköy, Cevizlibağ, the Haliç Bridge, Mecidiyeköy, and Zincirlikuyu.
While there is traffic congestion on the TEM Highway in the Halkalı-İkitelli direction, traffic is moving slowly in both directions on the D-100 highway at the Hadımköy Road and the Basın Ekspres Road.
Traffic is also heavy at the entrances to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and the Eurasia Tunnel, which provide passage from the Anatolian Side to the European Side, as well as on the roads connecting to them.
Vehicles are moving slowly in the Kartal, Maltepe, and Kadıköy sections of the D-100 highway, and there is also congestion at bridge exits and intersections.
Traffic starting in Sancaktepe on the TEM Highway is affecting areas up to Ataşehir and Altunizade, while traffic starting from the Kozyatağı junction extends to the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.
CONGESTION IN PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Citizens who wanted to use public transport in the city also created crowds at metro, metrobus, and bus stops.
Those passing through turnstiles to board vehicles at metrobus stops such as Avcılar, Yenibosna, Zeytinburnu, Cevizlibağ, Mecidiyeköy, Altunizade, and Uzunçayır encountered crowds.
According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mobile Traffic Map data, traffic density reached 70 percent across the city in the early morning hours, while it was measured at 60 percent on the European Side and 74 percent on the Anatolian Side.
