Istanbul surrounded: Dozens of streets and avenues closed for May 1st

Some roads in Istanbul have been closed to traffic due to the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day.

The Istanbul Governor's Office had announced that some roads in Istanbul would be closed to traffic due to the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day.

At 05:30 in the morning, police teams blocked the roads to be closed with iron barriers and bollards, shutting down streets and avenues to traffic. While vehicles were not allowed into the closed streets and avenues, drivers were directed to alternative routes.

The roads closed to traffic and alternative routes are as follows:

Roads to be closed to traffic in and around Saraçhane Park when necessary: Fevzipaşa Avenue, Macar Kardeşler Avenue, Atatürk Boulevard.
Alternative avenues that can be used within the scope of Saraçhane and surrounding measures: Abdülezelpaşa Avenue, Kadir Has Avenue, Ragıp Gümüşpala Avenue, Haliç Avenue, Şehzadebaşı Avenue.

Roads to be closed to traffic in and around Beyazıt Square when necessary: Ordu Avenue. Alternative avenues that can be used in and around Beyazıt Square: Vatan Avenue, Millet Avenue, Türkeli Avenue, Koska Avenue, Hayriye Tüccarı Avenue.

Roads to be closed and alternative routes in Taksim, Şişli, Mecidiyeköy, and their wider surroundings: Traffic from the Şişli Mecidiyeköy Ortaklar Junction towards Taksim will be closed, and traffic flow will be directed from Ortaklar Avenue towards Esentepe.

The Şişli Bomonti Tunnel will be closed towards Dolmabahçe, and traffic flow will be directed from Akar Avenue to Çağlayan and Piyale Paşa Boulevard.

Traffic wishing to go from the Şişli Kuştepe Junction towards Geçit Street will be closed at the Kuştepe Junction and directed towards Çağlayan.

Traffic wishing to go from the Çağlayan Hürriyettepe Junction towards Şişli will be directed from the Hürriyettepe Junction towards Darülaceze Avenue.
Traffic coming from the direction of Akar Avenue to the Hürriyettepe Junction will be directed from the Hürriyettepe Junction towards Çağlayan.
Traffic wishing to go from the direction of Darülaceze towards Okmeydanı will be closed at the Okmeydanı Junction and directed to Odese Boulevard.
Traffic coming from Piyalepaşa Boulevard will be closed towards Okmeydanı and directed towards the Sadabat Viaduct.
Traffic coming from Piyale Paşa Boulevard towards Dolapdere will be closed at the Dolapdere Junction towards Taksim Yedi Kuyular, and traffic will be directed back from the Dolapdere Junction to Piyale Paşa Boulevard. Traffic from the Kasımpaşa Tuz Ambarı traffic lights will be closed towards the Şişhane Tarlabaşı Boulevard, and traffic will be directed from the Tuz Ambarı traffic lights towards Hasköy.
Traffic going from Unkapanı Bridge towards Taksim will be directed to Ragıp Gümüş Pala and Abdülezelpaşa Avenue before entering the bridge.
Traffic wishing to come from Sirkeci to the Galata Bridge Karaköy direction will be closed and directed to Ragıp Gümüş Pala Avenue.
Traffic wishing to go from Ortaköy towards Çırağan Avenue Beşiktaş will be closed from Ortaköy and directed towards Dereboyu Avenue and Bebek.
Traffic coming from Beşiktaş Old Yıldız Avenue, Barbaros Boulevard, and side streets will be directed to the Balmumcu Junction towards Zincirlikuyu.
The Nişantaşı Junction will be closed towards Rumeli Avenue and directed from the Nişantaşı Junction towards Fulya.
The Teşvikiye Hüsrev Gerede Avenue direction will be closed and directed towards the Nişantaşı Junction. The Ihlamur Junction will be closed towards the Şair Nedim Avenue direction and directed from the Ihlamur Junction towards Fulya.
Kadırgalar Avenue will be closed towards Taksim and Küçük Çiftlik Avenue, and traffic flow will be directed towards the Bomonti Tunnel direction.
Barbaros Boulevard will be closed towards Beşiktaş from the Balmumcu Junction and directed from the Balmumcu Junction towards Levent Sarıyer.
Arrival from the Bosphorus Bridge northern direction (Sait Çiftçi) will be closed at the Beşiktaş Ortaköy exit and directed towards the Haliç direction.
If necessary, the E-5 northern road Mecidiyeköy exit will be closed and directed to the alternative Çağlayan Haliç direction.
If necessary, the E-5 southern road Mecidiyeköy exit will be closed, and traffic flow will be given towards the Zincirlikuyu Levent direction.
