With only hours left until the new year, the Istanbul Police Department has taken numerous measures to ensure that citizens have a trouble-free New Year's Eve. In a statement on his social media account, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said that as part of the New Year's security measures, a total of 55,556 personnel, including 4,313 teams at 814 points across the city, 3 helicopters, and 9 marine police boats, will be on standby.

Furthermore, it was learned that 15,000 cameras located at 2,200 points in the city will be monitored moment-by-moment by the City Security Management System (KGYS), ensuring that almost every point in the city is under observation. It was observed that the teams on duty at the KGYS located at the Istanbul Police Department's Vatan Campus are engaged in intensive work ahead of the New Year.
