The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has issued a statement regarding the 626 million TL vehicle rental tender it awarded to the Albayrak Group

In the statement, it was noted that the tender was awarded to the Albayrak Group "out of necessity" to "ensure the continuation of public services carried out by the municipality without any disruption," and the following remarks were included:

"The tender for the Vehicle Rental Service Procurement (16.06.2024 - 31.12.2024) with Tender Registration Number 2024/589831, conducted in accordance with Article 19 of the Public Procurement Law (open tender procedure), was held on 04.06.2024 at 11:00.

However, as a result of the examination of the bids submitted by the participants, the tender was canceled by the tender commission due to the lack of any valid bids that met the regulatory qualification criteria.

For this reason, in order to ensure the continuation of public services carried out by our Municipality without any disruption and to cover the period until a new open tender can be held, a tender was issued in accordance with Article 21, paragraph 'B' of the Public Procurement Law (negotiated procedure).

In this direction, 4 bidders were invited to the tender held on 07.06.2024 at 11:30, and the tender was concluded. Furthermore, the contract was signed at a lower cost than the bids submitted in the open tender that was canceled on 04.06.2024.

Additionally, preparations have already begun for the tender to be held for the subject matter in accordance with Article 19 of the Public Procurement Law (open tender procedure), and the tender announcement will be made via the Electronic Public Procurement Platform (EKAP) as soon as possible."
