An access ban was imposed on Instagram by the BTK on August 2.
It was learned that the decision to block access to Instagram was taken via the BTK's site information inquiry menu.
FIRST STATEMENT FROM BTK
In a statement made by the BTK regarding the access ban decision, it was stated that "Instagram was shut down on the grounds that it did not comply with catalog crimes."
On July 31, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun published a condolence message following Haniye's death on his social media platform X account and, drawing attention to the fact that Instagram blocked posts related to Haniye, stated: "I also strongly condemn the social media platform Instagram, which prevents people from posting condolence messages due to Haniye's martyrdom without providing any justification. This is a very clear and explicit attempt at censorship."
