Bilal Erdoğan paid a visit to Damascus, the capital of Syria. In addition to officials affiliated with HTS, Erdoğan also held a meeting with Ahmet el Şara, the President of the Transitional Government. It was reported that the state allocated vehicles for Erdoğan, who traveled to Damascus with an AKP delegation, via an official letter. IYI Party MP Turhan Çömez reacted to the vehicle allocation, reminding that Bilal Erdoğan holds no official title.

Bilal Erdoğan's Damascus visit took place ahead of the planned Syrian contacts of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the visit, extensive security measures were taken by police forces affiliated with HTS. Street entrances were closed, and security teams equipped with long-barreled weapons formed a wide perimeter around the convoy.

According to the report by Alican Uludağ from NOW TV, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs requested the allocation of 22 vehicles from governorates for Bilal Erdoğan's visit. The vehicles were planned to gather at the Hatay Cilvegözü border gate on February 27 and cross into Syria.

In the letter sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the governorates under the heading 'very urgent', the following statements were included:

''Within the scope of the visit that our President's son, Mr. Bilal Erdoğan, will pay to Syria between February 28 and March 1, 2025, in addition to the 4 vehicles mentioned in our relevant letter, it has been requested that 18 vehicles (7 from Gaziantep Governorate, 6 from Kilis Governorate, 5 from Hatay Governorate) be allocated and drivers be assigned by our Governorates. The assigned vehicles and drivers are planned to gather at the Hatay Cilvegözü border gate tomorrow (February 27) at 07:00 and cross into Syria.''
