The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the products with the highest price increases and decreases in retail prices for January, along with their rates of change.
Accordingly, compared to the previous month, the prices of 240 out of 336 main products in the Istanbul Consumer Price Index increased, while the prices of 49 products decreased.
In January, dental examinations, which are in the health expenditures group, became the product with the highest price increase at 66.67 percent.
Some of the other products with price increases included literary books from the recreation and culture expenditures group at 52.80 percent; fillings at 44.71 percent and tooth extractions at 44.09 percent from the health expenditures group; bridge, highway, and tunnel tolls at 43.89 percent, parking fees at 40 percent, urban transportation expenditures at 35.58 percent, taxi fares at 35 percent, and school bus fees at 34.96 percent from the transportation expenditures group; green onions at 32.61 percent and cucumbers at 29.36 percent from the food and non-alcoholic beverages expenditures group; intercity bus ticket prices at 24.96 percent from the transportation expenditures group; nursery and kindergarten fees at 22.22 percent from the education expenditures group; and lemons at 17.75 percent and bread at 15.24 percent from the food and non-alcoholic beverages expenditures group.
