İYİ Party Chairmanship Candidate Müsavat Dervişoğlu answered questions from members of the press regarding his candidacy.

Regarding whether he consulted with İYİ Party Chairperson Meral Akşener during the candidacy process, Dervişoğlu said, "If I had said something like that, such a result would follow, but I did not say any such thing. I only received our Chairperson's blessing.

Furthermore, it is only natural for a person to speak with their chairperson when they become a candidate for the leadership of a political party.

However, I am witnessing attempts to create speculation out of this. To tell you the truth, I am saddened by it," he stated.

Dervişoğlu conveyed that in addition to İYİ Party Chairperson Meral Akşener, he also spoke with elders within the party and individuals considered important political figures due to their positions.

"I BELIEVE A FIERCE COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT WILL NOT EMERGE"

Speaking about the high number of candidates, Dervişoğlu said, "This is a beauty. It will not lead to a division. Whoever wins, the loser will not be the İYİ Party. I also believe that such a fierce competitive environment will not emerge. I see that the candidates consist of reasonable political identities and personalities. I am pleased with this.

The processes will continue, and we will have meetings with the candidates. The candidates will meet with each other. Moreover, after this election is over, those who are competing against each other today will continue their journey arm in arm tomorrow. I am not someone from whose words speculation can be easily drawn.
