What is happening before the IYI Party extraordinary congress? Rıdvan Uz explains

IYI Party Çanakkale Deputy Rıdvan Uz has filed an objection petition with the Ankara Provincial Election Board, alleging that the delegate list prepared for the extraordinary congress to be held on April 27 is tainted by irregularities. Uz made statements after submitting the petition.

IYI Party Çanakkale Deputy Rıdvan Uz has alleged that "systematic and organized irregularities" were committed in the delegate list prepared for his party's extraordinary congress, which is scheduled for April 27.

Uz, who submitted an objection petition to the Ankara Provincial Election Board, also made a statement regarding the matter via his X account.

The following remarks from Uz's statement in front of the Ankara Provincial Election Board drew attention:

"In this context, according to our initial findings, it is understood that other individuals with different identity information have been registered in place of a large number of delegates who had resigned, while their names remained the same.

To give an example, although our Ankara delegate M..... A.... had resigned, they were included in the list; furthermore, although their actual date of birth is 1980, this date was stated as 1992 on the list, and similarly, their father's name also differs.

Some examples regarding our findings are presented in the annex in table form. In addition, applications for administrative and legal proceedings regarding the matter are being made to the relevant authorities, primarily the district election board."

SO THAT AKŞENER DOES NOT LEAVE...

"We have serious suspicions that the People's Alliance and the current government are behind this negative and unlawful situation.

Looking at the person, group, or faction that would derive the greatest benefit from such an attempt should be the starting point in the search for the usual suspect.

Abusing the will of the delegates unlawfully by having people who are not members of our party vote at our congress, or dragging our party into a difficult process by postponing or canceling the congress, is a behavior that can be expected from those who have been putting our founding Chairperson Meral Akşener in a difficult position in public for days by telling her not to leave.

We are of the opinion that the faction that delayed the honorable stance our Chairperson was to display on election night, and that exerted effort to dissuade her from this decision, is now forcing this path by tampering with the delegate's will, and that they are carrying out acts and transactions that will drag our party into a more difficult process, increase tensions and resentments, cause a loss of reputation, and carry purges, exhaustion, and divisions to irreversible points by way of postponing or completely canceling the congress."

"However, our qualified team noticed this situation very early on and, by taking the necessary initiatives, prevented the process from being disrupted or any negativity from occurring.

The IYI Party congress will convene on April 27 with great enthusiasm, without leaving any room for doubt, and will be an important milestone in a journey that transcends Turkey's borders and serves as a hope for all Turks."

Uz's statement via his X account is as follows:

"Following the legal process we initiated against the systematic and organized irregularities detected in the list provided to us, where the first name, surname, Turkish ID number, or father's name of our supreme council delegates were written incorrectly, we held a press conference.

The IYI Party congress will convene on April 27 with great enthusiasm, without leaving any room for doubt, and will be an important milestone in a journey that transcends Turkey's borders and serves as a hope for all Turks."
