İYİ Party's Kavuncu: Ümit Özdağ made my life a living hell

Buğra Kavuncu, the İYİ Party's candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor, visited shopkeepers in Silivri. There, he gave an interesting response to a shopkeeper who asked, 'Why didn't you form an alliance with Ümit Özdağ?'

Kavuncu asked for votes from the district's residents. Some citizens expressed their demands for metro and sea transportation in Silivri.

Stating that they have taken note of these demands, Kavuncu emphasized that they would follow up on them even if he does not win the election.

Regarding a shopkeeper's question about "Kanal Istanbul," Kavuncu noted that Kanal Istanbul is a massive project that exceeds the scope of local government and that the government could carry it out through the Ministry if it wanted to, but that AK Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Murat Kurum said, "Kanal Istanbul is not on our agenda."

"HE SLANDERED ME"

In response to a shopkeeper's question, "Why didn't you form an alliance with Ümit Özdağ?", Kavuncu replied, "Ümit Özdağ made my life a living hell. He slandered me; he looked me in the eye and called me a 'FETÖ member.' I went and filed a criminal complaint with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding myself. It is something unprecedented in history."

Stating that he won the lawsuits he filed, Kavuncu alleged that Özdağ made this slander because he tried to punish the party through him after failing to secure a position he wanted.

Kavuncu stated that he could not walk the same path as someone with that mindset, but added that Özdağ's assessments regarding irregular migration were correct.
