Gökhan Mustafa Demirtaş, the mayor of Gülüç Municipality in Zonguldak, who had a finalized prison sentence of 3 years, 1 month, and 15 days for the crime of "sexual assault by molestation" in a case where he was tried for sexually assaulting female staff working at the municipality, was arrested in Eskişehir on October 31 and sent to prison.
MUNICIPALITY PASSES TO AKP
In the municipal council meeting held at the Gülüç Wedding Hall to determine the acting mayor, AKP candidate Atilla Tarık Semiz and İYİ Party candidate Sedat Taşdelen competed. In the election held by secret ballot, Semiz received 5 votes and Taşdelen received 4 votes.
AKP Zonguldak Deputy Saffet Bozkurt, AK Party Karadeniz Ereğli District Chairman Muhammet Mücahit Andiç, AK Party Gülüç Town Chairman İsmail Yılmaz, council members, and party members congratulated Semiz, who was elected as the acting mayor.
