İYİ Party's Bilge Yılmaz offers self-criticism and points to Akşener

Following İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener's announcement that the party would head to a congress on April 27, resignations have followed one after another within the party.

Bilge Yılmaz, who resigned from his post as the head of the İYİ Party's Economic Policies, offered a self-criticism on his social media account regarding the process the İYİ Party is going through and made comments on what needs to be done from now on.

Yılmaz also listed the bad scenarios awaiting the party. Here is that post by Bilge Yılmaz:

"As the İYİ Party, we suffered a major defeat in the local elections. In the 10 months since the last election, we have lost 3 million 100 thousand votes. As a result of this erosion, we have completely lost our party's capacity to influence the country's politics. 

We lost both the presidential election, which we entered with the Six-Party Table alliance, and the local elections, which we entered independently. 

The biggest and almost sole reason for this failure is the institutional weakness of our party, where doors have been completely closed to people who think of their country and produce politics.

Let us admit that being successful is primarily related to the party's institutional capacity, political discourse, staff, and the leadership style that organizes and manages them.

When we look back at the past, we see an İYİ Party that was once a source of hope for our nation and whose vote share reached up to 20 percent in reliable surveys. However, the trust lost due to consecutive mistakes has caused our party to fall below 5 percent.

To be honest, with the current leader and management approach of the İYİ Party, there is no hope offered to our nation and especially to our youth for the future. If it continues this way, the İYİ Party will not even be able to enter Parliament in the next term.

This situation is unacceptable to anyone fighting under the roof of the İYİ Party for the future of the Turkish nation."
