İYİ Party reacts to construction of residence for Öcalan on İmralı: 'There will be a collapse and a breaking point'

İYİ Party's Çirkin has reacted to the construction of a residence on İmralı for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Stating that the construction of the residence is an act of betrayal, Çirkin said, "The spirit of counter-terrorism in Turkey will suffer a major blow. Because people will think that it has no meaning. There will be a collapse and a breaking point in national resistance. Besides this, terrorist and separatist movements will gain great momentum and morale, and their paths will be cleared. The barriers preventing the division of Turkey will be broken one by one. I am sorry, but this is betrayal," he said.

İYİ Party Hatay MP Şefik Çirkin reacted to remarks by DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan that 'there is a compound on İmralı for Öcalan to move into.' In his statement regarding the matter, Çirkin noted the following:

"As confirmed by DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, the construction of a special residence for the terrorist leader on İmralı has been completed. Naturally, this residence will have a cook, workers, and servants. Tomorrow, he will accept journalists, politicians, and people from all walks of life from Turkey and the world in this residence. This will lead to the cementing of the title 'Kurdish people's leader,' which is primarily a DEM Party absurdity. Because he will have been granted immense power and status."
