İYİ Party's Çömez to Minister Ersoy: He is marketing hotels that should be shut down with fake documents

İYİ Party's Turhan Çömez has alleged that Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy is improperly marketing the Kartal Hotel through his own company using fake documents.

Discussions continue regarding who bears responsibility for the hotel fire tragedy in Kartalkaya, which claimed the lives of 78 of our citizens. In his parliamentary speech, İYİ Party's Turhan Çömez made new allegations regarding the potential negligence of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy in this tragedy.

In his previous speeches, Çömez had alleged that Minister Ersoy went to exercise in the morning while the hotel fire tragedy was unfolding, and he has now revealed new scandals regarding how the tragedy occurred step by step.

'HE IS FILLING HIS COFFERS BY MARKETING THEM THROUGH HIS OWN COMPANY WITH FAKE DOCUMENTS'

Starting his remarks by saying, "I will share with you an official document that shows how people were led to their deaths in plain sight," Çömez displayed a document from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism dated 02.07.2024.

Çömez announced that the Kartal Hotel was among the hotels listed in the official document, which requested the closure and the cessation of advertising for 2,436 hotels that lack a tourism operation license.

Showing that the Kartal Hotel's advertisements were still being run despite this document, Çömez spoke as follows:

"Do you know where the marketing, promotion, and advertising of the same hotel (Kartal Hotel) is being done? It is at the ETS company of Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. The ETS company is marketing this hotel here, which should have been closed and lacks a license.

'HE IS INSERTING FAKE DOCUMENTS'

The Minister is inserting fake documents here (for the Kartal Hotel) so that his personal company can gain more profit. This document belongs to a guesthouse in Antalya. For God's sake, is this how a state is to be governed? Is this how people's lives are to be entrusted to the state?"

Sharing his speech in parliament on his social media account as well, İYİ Party's Turhan Çömez stated, "Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy is marketing hotels that should be shut down with fake documents through his own company and filling his coffers!"
