İzmir Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Günay suspended from office

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, it was stated that, "Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Günay has been suspended from office as a temporary measure by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, following the initiation of an investigation against him by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office under file number 2026/70858 for the crimes of 'Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes and Being a Member of an Organization, Bribery, Misconduct in Office, Violation of the Zoning Law, Violation of the Coastal Law, Causing Zoning Pollution, and Forgery of Official Documents,' and the application of a detention measure."
