Jealousy horror in Kadıköy! She set a young woman on fire in the middle of the street

In front of an entertainment venue located in the Caferağa neighborhood of Istanbul's Kadıköy district, 33-year-old Gözde Yılmaz was subjected to a horrific attack due to jealousy.

The incident began when a woman approached Gözde Yılmaz while she was sitting with her friends and poured a flammable substance she was holding over her head. The attacker said to Yılmaz, "Are you with my boyfriend?" and set her on fire with a lighter. Yılmaz was seriously injured, suffering third-degree burns on her body.

SHE HAD A PHONE CALL BEFORE THE ATTACK

While Gözde Yılmaz was sitting outside with her friends, she had a brief phone conversation. Immediately after her call, the female attacker approached her and poured the flammable substance she was holding over Yılmaz's head. Shortly after, saying, "Are you with my boyfriend?", she set Yılmaz on fire. After the incident, the attacker quickly fled the scene as if nothing had happened.

HER FRIENDS TRIED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE

Gözde Yılmaz's friends were the first to intervene as she was engulfed in flames. Her friends, who tried to extinguish the fire, immediately reported the situation to medical teams in a panic. Yılmaz, who was taken to the hospital by an ambulance that arrived at the scene shortly after, was taken under treatment with third-degree burns on a large part of her body. It was learned that Yılmaz, whose treatment process continues in intensive care, remains in critical condition.

WITNESSES DESCRIBED THE INCIDENT

According to the report by Gamze Şimşek from Ekol TV, Mehmet Bedirhan Uçak, who witnessed the moment of the incident, described the attack as follows:

“We were sitting at the table when suddenly a woman we didn't know came up. She poured the flammable substance in her hand over our friend and set her on fire. Six of us tried to put it out together, but it was very difficult. Our friend's body was almost completely burned, and she is still suffering in the hospital.”

THE ATTACKER WAS CAUGHT IN A SHORT TIME

The attacker, who fled immediately after the incident, was caught in a short time as a result of the rapid work carried out by police teams. After her procedures at the police station, the attacker was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
