Joint statement from foreign ministers of 10 countries regarding Israel's intervention in the Sumud Flotilla

In a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of 10 countries, it was stated: "The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Colombia, the State of Libya, the Republic of Maldives, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan condemn in the strongest terms Israel's repeated attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla, a peaceful civilian humanitarian initiative aimed at drawing the international community's attention to the humanitarian catastrophe faced by the Palestinian people."

The statement, which noted that the ministers are concerned about the safety of those on board the flotilla, recorded the following:

"The Ministers recall with deep concern previous Israeli interventions against flotillas in international waters and condemn the continuation of hostile acts targeting civilian vessels and humanitarian aid activists. These attacks, including assaults on ships and the arbitrary detention of activists, constitute a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law. The Ministers express their grave concern regarding the safety and security of the civilians on board the flotilla and call for the immediate release of all detained activists and for full respect for their rights and dignity."

The statement further noted: "The Ministers also emphasize that the repeated attacks on peaceful humanitarian initiatives are a reflection of a persistent disregard for international law and freedom of navigation. The Ministers call upon the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian missions, and to take concrete steps to end impunity and ensure accountability for these violations."
