Journalist announces update regarding Dilan and Engin Polat case

The investigation initiated by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against Engin Polat and Dilan Polat for "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "prevention of money laundering," "laundering of assets derived from crime," and "opposition to tax law" is ongoing.
Within the scope of the investigation, 12 suspects, including Dilan and Engin Polat, were arrested and sent to prison on November 5.
RELEASE DECISION HAD BEEN MADE
A new development occurred in the investigation. The Anatolian 6th Criminal Court of Peace, which conducted the monthly detention review, had decided to release the detained suspects, including Dilan Polat and Engin Polat, from the charge of "opposition to the Tax Procedure Law."
Dilan Polat and Engin Polat, whose detention was ordered to continue for the charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing a crime" and "laundering of assets derived from crime," were unable to be released from prison.
COURT DECISION ON DILAN AND ENGIN POLAT
Nihal and Bahar Candan, who were determined to have acted together with a criminal organization that defrauded citizens using the 'sazan sarmalı' (carp spiral) method by claiming to sell vehicles cheaply, were arrested on November 16, 2023, for fraud and money laundering.
Nihal Candan, who was in Marmara Prison, was released due to health problems.
Following Candan's release, it was claimed that a similar situation could occur for Dilan and Engin Polat. Journalist Emrullah Erdinç stated in a post on social media, "The monthly detention evaluation of the Polat family, about whom there has been a perception for days that they would be tried without arrest, was evaluated by the Duty Criminal Court of Peace. The duty judgeship decided to continue the detention of all defendants, including Dilan and Engin Polat."
