Journalist İsmail Saymaz reacts to Ogün Samast's release
Journalist İsmail Saymaz has joined the chorus of reactions against the decision to release Ogün Samast, who murdered Agos newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink in front of the newspaper's building in Şişli, Istanbul, on January 19, 2007.

Ogün Samast, who had been in prison for 16 years and 10 months, had completed his sentence a year ago under conditional release due to good behavior. A release decision was issued for Samast, who had been kept under observation by the prison administration.
While this decision drew significant backlash, journalist İsmail Saymaz also reacted to the development. Reminding the public of the attacks on journalists and their imprisonment in the country, Saymaz expressed his reaction to Samast's release with the following words:
