In the Sur district of Diyarbakır, Okay Gür (37), who had previously been imprisoned for drug trafficking and was released recently, killed his common-law wife, Rojda Yakışıklı (28). The incident occurred yesterday in the Sarıkaş hamlet of Beybulak neighborhood.

HE BURIED THE BODY AFTER THE MURDER

After being released from prison, Okay Gür, who was living at home, strangled Rojda Yakışıklı to death for an unknown reason. Gür took the woman's lifeless body to a vacant lot approximately 4 kilometers away from the hamlet and buried it there.

Yakışıklı's family reported the situation to the gendarmerie after not hearing from her for some time. As a result of the investigation and research, it was determined that Yakışıklı had been murdered.

Following the incident, the suspect Okay Gür was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams. Yakışıklı's body was removed from the land through excavation and sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.

HE HAD BEEN RELEASED WITH THE JUDICIAL PACKAGE

According to local media, Okay Gür had been released from prison under the 11th Judicial Package, which was passed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on December 24. The judicial package led to the release of approximately 50 thousand convicts. It was stated that the suspect Gür committed the murder shortly after his release.
