The second inflation figure for 2026, which determines the salary increases for millions of civil servants and retirees in Turkey, has been announced. With the announcement of February inflation, calculations regarding the raise rate to be applied in July have begun to clarify.

Following the increases implemented in January for civil servants and retirees, who receive inflation adjustments and collective bargaining raises twice a year, all eyes have turned to the July period.

RAISES IMPLEMENTED IN JANUARY

After the December 2025 inflation was determined, salary increases were implemented in January. Accordingly, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees received a 12.19 percent raise. The salaries of civil servants and civil servant retirees were increased by 18.60 percent. Additionally, a flat-rate raise difference of 1,000 TL was provided to civil servants and civil servant retirees.

Following the latest regulation, the lowest civil servant salary rose from 52,617 TL to 60,896 TL. The lowest civil servant pension reached the level of 27,889 TL. The lowest retiree pension was set at 20,000 TL. The increased salaries and the resulting difference payments were deposited into the accounts of public employees.

FEBRUARY INFLATION ANNOUNCED

The inflation rate for January was announced as 4.84 percent. February 2026 inflation was 2.96 percent. Thus, the two-month inflation rate since the beginning of the year has reached a total of 7.95 percent.

This data stands out as one of the primary indicators in calculating the salary increase to be made in July.

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING RAISE FOR CIVIL SERVANT SALARIES

Within the scope of collective bargaining provisions, a 7 percent raise is projected for civil servant salaries in the second half of 2026. If the inflation rate exceeds this level, the difference will be added to the salaries.

It was stated that the 1,000 TL flat-rate increase implemented at the beginning of the year will not be repeated in the July period.

With the announcement of the February inflation data, the two-month inflation difference for the July raise for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees was calculated as 7.95 percent. The inflation data to be announced in the coming months will determine the final raise rate to be finalized in July.
