Justice Minister Tunç: Health examinations of Sumud Flotilla activists completed

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that the health examinations of the activists from the Sumud Flotilla, who were attacked by Israeli forces, have been completed at the Council of Forensic Medicine.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated in a post on his social media account, "The health examinations of our citizens and activists from various countries on the Global Sumud Flotilla, who set out to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and reached Istanbul after being attacked and detained by Israeli forces in international waters, have been completed at the Istanbul Council of Forensic Medicine.

In the examinations carried out by a 100-person delegation consisting of forensic medicine and psychiatry specialists, as well as experts in internal medicine, general surgery, chest diseases, family medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics-traumatology, and neurology, the physical and mental conditions of the activists were meticulously examined," he said.

In his statement, where he noted that the activists' testimonies had been taken and the process was ongoing, Minister Tunç said, "Samples for necessary tests were taken from all activists, who consist of citizens of Tunisia, Jordan, the UK, Mauritania, and Morocco, as well as our own country, and those with additional medical complaints or health issues were referred to healthcare institutions.

Following the examinations, testimonies were taken by public prosecutors, and the process is being conducted with sensitivity by our relevant authorities," he added.
