Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç responds to 'Fatih Terim Fund' question!

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made statements regarding the agenda following the Judicial Reform Strategy and Human Rights Action Plan Meeting.

'THERE ARE MATTERS THAT THE TTB MUST COMPLY WITH'

When asked about the decision to remove the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) Central Council from office, Tunç gave the following response:

“The TTB President had made a statement. They had alleged that the TSK (Turkish Armed Forces) used chemical weapons. This is unacceptable. It was part of an effort to undermine the fight against terrorism. This became a matter for the judiciary, a case was filed, and they received a sentence. While that process was ongoing, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also noted that there are matters that professional organizations with the status of public institutions must comply with under the TTB Law. Due to an attitude contrary to their own laws, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment. The Ankara 31st Civil Court of First Instance also issued a ruling. It decided to remove the TTB executives from office. A new management will be determined from the delegates to replace them. This is a judicial decision. A judicial ruling is in question. We will all follow the processes together.”

'FATIH TERIM FUND' STATEMENT

Minister Tunç was also asked about the case regarding former Denizbank branch manager Seçil Erzan, who allegedly defrauded famous names from the worlds of football and business under the name of the 'Fatih Terim Fund'.

Pointing out that the trial process is ongoing, Minister Tunç stated that the second hearing will be held on January 12, saying, “We will all wait for the judicial process together.”
