The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has opened 21 treasury lands located in 11 provinces for development.

In Gerenkuyu and Tavşanburnu, forest areas right next to hotel projects by Limak and Kalyon Holding have been opened for zoning.

With the opening of the 239,000-square-meter forest area located right next to Limak and Kalyon's hotel projects for zoning, a new tree massacre has become almost inevitable.

The opening of this area for zoning, which is adjacent to Kalyon Holding's 204,000-square-meter project in Tavşanburnu and Limak Holding's 155,000-square-meter project in Gerenkuyu, has drawn backlash.

As the summer season approaches, this step taken by the ministry brings to mind the major forest fires experienced in 2021.

Following the fires in which hundreds of thousands of square meters of forest land were reduced to ashes in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, approval was granted for hotel construction in the İçmeler region of Marmaris, which is adjacent to Bodrum.
