Kartal Municipality issues statement on investigation: 'Defense has been requested'

An indictment was prepared against CHP Kartal Mayor Gökhan Yüksel on charges of 'misconduct in office,' and it was requested that Yüksel and 19 other suspects be sentenced to prison terms ranging from 10 months to 3 years and 6 months.

Kartal Municipality issued a written statement regarding the investigation. The statement included the following remarks:

"As a result of the general inspection conducted at our Municipality by the Civil Inspector in 2021, a defense was requested from us regarding the leasing of certain municipal properties, such as taxi stands, base stations, and tea shops within the municipality, under the scope of tenders held in accordance with Article 51/g of Law No. 2886. In response to this request, our defenses were submitted to the Civil Inspector."
