İYİ Party Adana MP Ayyüce Türkeş has reacted to her brother, AKP Ankara MP Tuğrul Türkeş, who announced that he would visit Osman Kavala, a prisoner in the Gezi Park case. In a post on her X account, Ayyüce Türkeş stated, "It is not anyone's place to put Başbuğ Türkeş, who should not have spent even a second of his life in prison, in the same category as Osman Kavala. Everyone will know their place and limits."

AKP Ankara MP Tuğrul Türkeş had announced in a recent interview that he would visit Gezi Case prisoner Osman Kavala. Türkeş had said, "This is the nationalism I was taught. I am the child of a father who spent 7 years of his life, one-tenth of his life, in prison."
A reaction to Türkeş's statement regarding Kavala came from his sister, İYİ Party Adana MP Ayyüce Türkeş.
Posting on her X account, Ayyüce Türkeş stated, "It is not anyone's place to put Başbuğ Türkeş, who should not have spent even a second of his life in prison, in the same category as Osman Kavala. Everyone will know their place and limits."
The full text of Ayyüce Türkeş's post is as follows:
“Başbuğ Alparslan Türkeş is a great statesman who dedicated his life to the Turkish Nation and the Turkish State, and who wrote his name in history in golden letters with his deeds. Even though 27 years have passed since his passing, those who have found a place in Turkish politics solely with the legacy He left behind, but unfortunately without understanding Him; without being able to represent Him, please leave the spirit of the BAŞBUĞ in peace... Conduct all your politics and bargaining in your own name...
Başbuğ Türkeş is not a chew toy for those whose hands are stained with blood/who have treachery and separatism in their souls. The 'Nationalism' learned from BAŞBUĞ TÜRKEŞ is neither done by attacking left and right from an X account with the power of the seat you occupy, nor is it done as a pawn in political bargaining.
Above all, it is not anyone's place to put Başbuğ Türkeş, who should not have spent even a second of his life in prison, in the same category as Osman Kavala. Everyone will know their place and limits...
Furthermore, those who are curious about Başbuğ Türkeş's memories can read 'Şahinler’in Dansı' (Dance of the Falcons), which the Başbuğ himself narrated and had written down. Başbuğ TÜRKEŞ did not miss his son's wedding because he was in prison; he missed it because his son held the wedding while his father was in prison.
I would also like to emphasize that Başbuğ Türkeş did not make anyone, including his own children, pay a price; he paid every price himself and left behind a very proud spiritual legacy. He himself never viewed the things you say he paid a price for as paying a price, and he never complained for a single day. He saw everything he experienced as a service to the great Turkish Nation, which is why he never faltered/never collapsed. He achieved immortality by entering the hearts of the great Turkish Nation. May his soul be blessed and his place be in heaven...”
Başbuğ Alparslan Türkeş, ömrünü Türk Milleti’ne Türk Devleti’ne adamış; ameli ile adını altın harflerle tarihe yazdırmış büyük bir devlet adamıdır.
