Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu reacts to the verdict in the Kobani Case

In the Kobani Case, Selahattin Demirtaş was sentenced to 42 years in prison after a reduction from an aggravated life sentence, while Figen Yüksekdağ was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

While Ahmet Türk was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Altan Tan, Ayhan Bilgen, Aysel Tuğluk, and Bircan Yorulmaz were acquitted.

A decision was reached for the release of Gültan Kışanak and Sebahat Tuncel, along with 12-year prison sentences for each.

Sırrı Süreyya Önder was also acquitted.

The decisions were made unanimously.

The 7th Chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, reacted to the verdict on his social media account.

Kılıçdaroğlu stated the following:

''The scales of justice have been broken once again today…

As is the case in every country where the legislative, executive, and judiciary branches are surrendered to a single man, unfortunately, in our country too, the door to seeking justice has become closed to the righteous and the oppressed, and has come to serve the interests and associates of dictators. Let no one forget, the validity of all decisions made today lasts only as long as the authoritarian government remains in power. In the conscience of the people and in the eyes of our nation, these decisions have no standing. This is why one does not shake hands with dictatorial regimes and does not become an apparatus of the system! All of this is not normal; it is neither conscientious nor moral. Fighting against authoritarian rule is our only option on this path. All democrats must see this reality. If we give up, the blow to our nation's neck will be even more severe. Let us not forget: There is no other Turkey!''
