Kılıçdaroğlu clarifies controversial 'we will drown them in the harem-i ismet' remark: It is a declaration of warning and determination

Kılıçdaroğlu had broken his long silence and made a statement on his X account regarding the lawsuit initiated to annul the congress following the process in which he lost the chairmanship to Özgür Özel, as well as the debates surrounding that case. 

In his statement, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said, "we are capable of drowning the enemies of this party within the party's own harem-i ismet," and what he meant by this statement became a subject of debate. 

HE MADE A NEW STATEMENT

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made a new, exclusive statement to TGRT Ankara Representative Fatih Atik.

Kılıçdaroğlu explained what he meant by the sentence, "we are capable of drowning the enemies of this party within the party's own harem-i ismet," as follows:

 "What is meant by this sentence is as follows:

• Whether inside or outside the party; whoever they may be, if there are those who want to wear down the party, damage its reputation, or target it with dark campaigns,

• The struggle to be waged against these individuals will be conducted while remaining within the party's own morality, history, values, and principles (that is, its harem-i ismet).

• In other words, the reckoning will not be done with the enemies using the rotten methods they employ, but within the party's clean, honorable, and principled structure.

• At the same time, this expression is a declaration of warning and determination against the decay within the party itself. Whoever, from inside or outside the party, thinks they are untouchable will be drowned in the party's 'spotlessness'."
